Interesting. I'd never thought about the working class as being similar to the serfs, but I see it now.

Business owners give their serfs an opportunity to do stuff and be paid a fixed amount and the owner keeps the surplus. The owner also manages and controls the tasks allocated to the serfs.

So might one transition be that human owner has Ai to help come up with ways to utilise the serfs efficiently? Might our future workforce not disappear totally under the weight of AI and automation, but instead become a mishmash of the meat and non-meat bags, to accomplish whatever gets accomplished?

I know a UBI will appear and won't work.

I know the wealthy will get wealthier. They have the power to ensure the system keeps them at the top. And it is the wealthy that control the distribution of AI and all our knowledge systems, so I can see the wealthy, our current Feudal Lords I guess, doing what they can to keep things all happening in their favour.

The whole hegemony oligarchy thing.

I'm looking forward to your future articles on this topic. I know very little about it, but figure it is a space that will be very important for all of us very soon.
