I'm waiting for an earbud with a camera in it. I will call it Jeff. I will say 'Jeff, where did I put my glasses?'. Jeff, who has been watching everything I do tells me they are in the bathroom.
The earbud is common these days so won't attract attention. Folks won't get the jitters that they are being recorded.
Jeff runs on a local inference on my phone and so although at times a touch slow for complex things, it doesn't use up data sending anything anywhere.
Jeff runs a segmentation model so it knows what it is looking at at all times, like the Terminator figured out which bikie has the right sized jacket, boots, and pants.
Jeff runs as an app on this slightly modified earbud and thus normal phone calls etcetera all work no worries.
The devs for this type of thing are calling it 'audio centric apps' or similar, and I'm all for that.
I want Jeff to tell me where the 10 mm socket went.
I don't the R1 could do that even on a good day.
