I ponder, will this trend of more and more content being AI generated result in us returning to the days of gatekeepers? Newspapers were semi-trusted because they had gatekeepers.

Will places like Medium, where content sits behind a paywall, become more popular since it tends to deter AI generated content?

But then will paywalls not matter if the AI content is quite good. And your typo comment makes me wonder if AI will be trained to make errors so that it is assumed to come from a real meat bag?

I think the only thing we can do is train everyone to be ever more critical of everything they read. The era of 'trust nothing and trust no one' will be returning.

I know that my feed on the YouTube is about half generated rubbish with clickbait titles and AI voiced and/or stolen content.

It won't be long before we can't tell though. AI content will get better and better.

And when our search engine query responses are moderated and formulated by an LLM, will we be directly connected to any information anymore, or will all of it be abstracted and modulated to suit a purpose that is invisible to us.

(This comment brought to you by RobbieLLM tm who isn't AI, trust me, why would I lie?)
