I agree.
The fact a Universal Basic Income gives total control to the Government and takes away a person's autonomy, for me says a lot about why it may not be a good thing.
I do think we need to prioritise making stuff hard enough to exercise both body and mind in our lives, yet we spend our time making things easier.
When I was a kid, the remote for the tv was me.
Phones were in the hallway and you had to go out to answer them.
Everything we did was a touch harder than today.
And AI is going to make a lot of life's mental stuff easy. I already know people who can't read a map, and I realise that I no longer bother remembering the phone numbers of the important people in my life. When I was young, anyone I wanted to speak to was a number I had to remember so that I could dial it at a payphone.
So what the future will be isn't nice for us if the trend we are on continues. Everyone will be fat and stupid.
