Food turning into fat is common for most of us, but the process is a mystery to many.
And my advice is don’t give up on your healthy eating plan just because you had one piece of cake.
How much of this biscuit will turn to fat?
This is a very difficult question to answer.
The amount of fat you’ll store for any given amount of food is driven by many factors - hormone levels, digestive cycle, gut biome, etcetera, but for now, let’s assume all of it turns to fat. How much fat?
Firstly, insulin causes fat to be stored (amongst many other things it does), and the thing that triggers insulin release is the carbohydrate content of the food. In this case 11.6 grams for a single biscuit, of which 3.3 grams is straight sugar.
Let’s assume the insulin spike from this biscuit means your body stores all of the biscuit as fat. This is very unlikely, but let’s assume.
