Excellent article.
Once again I am reminded how much the public just don't get about the AI space.
It is a fluffy genie in a bottle that will fix everything, or it is a demon in a bottle ready to take everyone's job and destroy society.
People seem to be in one camp or the other. Most people I talk to don't know enough to straddle the divide and see that a hammer can bash a nail or it can bash a head.
Trouble with hammers is they can't autonomously go looking for nails and/or heads and that's what gives people the willies about AI.
